Confessions of an MBA
Hey everybody Rick Gomez. Today I’m going to give a–I’m going to have a confession, about 20 years ago I was introduced to a company at concept of course at the concept was called “Network Marketing” and I thought I’m too good for network marketing, I’m not going to be out there talking to my friends and family having to think that I’ve made a bad decision and I didn’t know what I was doing, that what I was getting into was pyramid schemes.
And it didn’t work and again, remember that was 20 years ago when I heard that. And I stopped myself on my tracks because of the concept and the model, the business model, and I liked it, my intuition told me it was a good model but I didn’t do anything with it. So the years went on and another opportunity came in front of me and I take a look at it and I say “Well, golly you know, 20 years have passed” that industry, the network marketing industry, the direct sales industry continues to move forward. If that was such a scam, why wouldn’t the government have already you know, shut it down, if it wasn’t such a profitable — if it wasn’t profitable why they exist today.
Well, I’m here to tell you that my mind has changed that I am now believer in this model because it–you know, 20 years later you’re still doing with (Inaudible) and I will still be working a corporate job. So if you think that this model doesn’t work, it does. And the only thing that I can tell you is 20 years of experience–they last 20 years, I’ve worked 20 years.
So the people that have seeing the vision that understand and don’t–you know second guess themselves they’re the one that going to profited because I really believe that anybody that is willing to put in the time. Get that right mindset, I mean it’s very important that you put yourself in groups of people that are like minded because those are the ones that you’re going to learn from and grow with.
So you know I have an MBA now, I have my degrees and I just thought that I was too good for this industry. Well, that’s not true because there are people here that have no degrees, there were people here that have high school educations, but because they market, they know that they can leverage this opportunity and now there is a level playing field called “Internet”.
The internet levels everything if you’re creative, if you help others, if you listen, if your coachable, you can make a lot of money in this business. And even if you didn’t have all that money you have a lifestyle that you can get paid on for working from home. So you have to decide what’s important.
